Memory 1

Words that are used to describe Hannah:

-playful
-childish (but in the good way)
-nostalgic

I love to remember, even though I'm not always good at it. And so in honer, I have started a new series.

yes this is me at 5 years of age (I liked to play wedding with my moms old veil)

Each Friday I will feature a "flash back" to something from my childhood. Come on this journey of remembering with me.

This week (and one day late):
in honor or the epic movie night that took place at the Fremont House

One of the most beautiful endings to a movie ever.

Surprises are fun!

Surprise! New blog button. So if you would be so kind as to replace the old one, cause it'll just look funny now.

As much as I love bubbles, it just wasn't that fun to look at. I kinda like this so much more.

And no, it's not cause my face is on this one thank you very much.

Also, since I'm here

30 day music challenge:

Day 14 – A song that no one would expect you to love

What?! I know! I'm just full of surprises tonight. I used to (when I was crazy depressed in high school) drive to the cemetary and listen to this song in the rain. There was something wrong with me guys, just sayin'.

5) Roadtrips! So simple...but oh so true this week.

30 day music challenge:
(shhh...I didn't already do this today)

Day 13 – A song that is a guilty pleasure:

Don't you dare judge. I'll admit it. I dance around my room with a hairbrush and this song blasting. It was a favorite on the roadtrip this weekend. Thank God the hippie supports my guilty pleasures. Extra points that Evan Taubenfeld was still with Avril at this point and is therefore in the music video.

For those of you that don't know...I'm kinda obsessed with him. He wrote a song called Pumpkin Pie. It was love at first...sound.

Girlfriend - Avril Lavigne

Little things that made this morning great...

...I got McDs (and there was a dollar menu, but more on that later) just cause I wanted to
...a parent was nice to me
...the lady at the drive through smiled at me like she meant it
...I ate cereal with my roommate this morning
...I drank coffee out of my owl mug
...I listened to the mix CD my brother made me for Christmas (the best present he's ever given me)

What made your morning, that could have been terrible (cause it's Monday...let's be honest), great?

P.S. - Five things I heart to come soon!

30 day music challenge:

Day 12 – A song from a band you hate:

I love this song, but Rise Against is a little heavy for my taste (so no I don't really hate them...but they aren't a favorite)

Swing Life Away - Rise Against

Friday, January 21, 2011

No sleep tonight (cause I just had a Spice Chai...fail)

Roadtrips kinda make me happy.

I think I told you about jenny&tyler once or twice. Now let me tell you about Gabe Bondoc.

He likes swings, giraffes, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and The Lion King.

He once wrote a song that talked about Ariel.

Bubbles make him happy.

I think 8 hours is well worth the drive to see this talented musician.

Dorm Room - Gabe Bondoc (an original)

A Love Letter: Part II

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.  ~Anna Quindle

I bet you were expecting to see a picture of a book.
But I choose instead to show you a picture of the place I do a large chunk of my reading. As a poetry major who sometimes wishes she was a literature major, my homework is all reading and writing.

POHO. Potters House. My love letter to coffeehouses was mostly written about this house of flavored serenity. It's where I go to think, play, talk, dance, dream, write, read, be alone, or be around everyone at once.

I think of my favorite word. Serendipidy.

ser·en·dip·i·ty –noun
-an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident.
-a wonderful coffeehouse discovered by chance and accident

30 day music challenge

Day 10 – A song that makes you fall asleep:

This song makes me fall asleep for the simple fact that I used to fall asleep to it every night when I was 15.

Angel - Sarah McLachlan

Week 3

Thrifting yesterday revealed some great finds. Plus I got crafty last night. I love those moods.

1) I took something old and made it new. This used to have a bleach stain on it, but Malory (new housemate) showed me how to make this beauty.

2) Clear plate turned to beautifulness with some old fabric

3) The Fremont House in the snow

4) Digging out my old poetry books for class

5) My cousin Rachel's new "Lola Bag" design. Beyond amazing!

List Love

I have a secret adoration for lists

On the list of things to do today:
- finish decorating the room
- run errands with the hippie
- get chalkboard paint for a fun craft project
- update the wander and the runaway (yeah, I know...finally)
- finish Going the Distance (don't care what you say. they make me laugh out loud by myself. it takes talent to do that)

photo props here

Our room is slowly becoming a perfect expression of my deepest and truest heart. That's kinda what a room should be yeah?

Guess whoooooooo? (the who was a clue)

The secret room will be a secret no longer in a few days. Just need a finish a few things for the pictures.

30 day music challenge

Day 08 – A song that you know all the words to:

I always sing very loudly with my musicals. This is one of my favorites (and also my dream role for anyone who wants to know). I will admit it. I used to put my earphones on and act this scene out in my basement. There were tears. Don't judge.

On My Own - Les Miserables (Performed by Kaho Shimada)

Yup...pretty lucky.

30 day music challenge

Day 07 – A song that reminds you of a certain event

There are few songs that can take me so completely back to a single moment in my life. This one takes me back to Junior Year of high school, Sadie Hawkins dance, last dance with what was to be my first love.

Getaway Car - Audioslave

It's lovely to be back. I missed you all.
