So I have this friend...

...and she has this thing called a birthday today. Did you think I would let this day pass my dear Beth?

And so, in honer of this day...one of my lists! 

Things I love about Beth:

- your big huge heart for kids (especially the kids of Balance, I will giggle about Sydney anytime)

- your determination in your major, you inspire me with your professional but fun attitude

- you love of music that I love

- GLEEK!

- your ever changing wardrobe 

- the fact that we can talk for hours about Meyers Briggs and Disney Princesses

- the fact that you always lend a listening ear

- your second half (yes, I include Travis as a part of you) and watching you both together and how you love each other so uniquely and wonderfully

- the love that you shower on everyone around you

You are such a sweet person to have in my life (possibly the sweetest). I'm so happy you're in it, hopefully for a very long time to come. 

We're not what we've seen

I was thinking today about why it's so hard for me to move, and yet I do it all the time.

I get inspired and attached to my surroundings. The french doors in my living room are not only pretty, they make me think of the time I pushed my nose up on the glass and made faces at the Fremont House girls. 

The sink isn't just old fashioned and unique. It reminds me of washing dishes and listening to music with the window open during a rainstorm. 

But with new surroundings, comes new magical openings for my imagination. And new memories to create and new areas to love. 

Our new living room, in what is now known as Fort Lollypop, was clean for one day. Now it's a mess or craft supplies, library books, paper beads from Africa, and half eaten brownies. And I wouldn't have it any other way. It is utterly unique and completely fit for an oversize 5 year old and a hippie.

Memory 2

As many of you read, we had the Snowpocalypse this week at The Fremont House. Thankfully all are well, and have a few extra books read, crafts completed, or sleep caught up on. 

But because of these three snow days, I remembered being home on snow days when I was little. Think of it:

hot chocolate

fires in the fireplace

your mom let you sit in her giant bed and watch cartoons all morning

and then there were waffles cause your dad was home too

and don't forget building a snowman with your big brother

I loved snow days when I was little. They really are the best thing about this dreadful season.

1) This fantastic coffeehouse in St. Louis. All non-profit that goes towards clean water in Uganda. Coffee and Uganda mixed in one non-profit. Yes please!

2) The Fremont House now has a blog! Excitement!

3) This new Invisible Children movie trailer. I was there the night of the bombings they talk about.

Thrifting yesterday revealed some great finds. Plus I got crafty last night. I love those moods.

1) I took something old and made it new. This used to have a bleach stain on it, but Malory (new housemate) showed me how to make this beauty.

The Fremont House

I spent my first time alone at the Fremont House tonight. 

I kinda feel like this house needs a facebook fan page. It holds a lot of pieces of my heart. Like this piece and this piece.

I know I've been semi-terrible at blogging lately. I put it off on lack of sleep and overload of stress. But finals went amazingly well, so after I sleep for about 15 hours I'll be back to the blogging world. I promise. Cause I pretty much miss you all with every fiber in my being. 

Also, I'm trying to think of a fun give away for after Christmas. I'll keep you updated, but it'll probably be a new craft inspired by my new roommates and house. 

Also, I need help. I'm trying to revamp my "This girl thinks that..." series. I want a different name. I want to do five things I love every Monday, but I want a more creative name than that. I've been using my thesaurus and Oxford English Dictionary (let's play how can you tell Hannah's an English major!) and I still can't think of a good name.
